My shirts are doing a great job. So many people (not only Germans) talk to me and love your music! Incredible!

Hey Anja,
I think you're doing great cos you seems to put your heart with your doings. The best what you can do right now, is sending request to radios, keep spreading the word about Alex everywhere you can; on chats, forums, twitter, facebook, make your friends and people you know to help you etc. Just do what ever comes to your mind. :)

I'm from Finland and I'm doing same here with my twin sister. We're have done that during these 8 years. They played and still play a lot "Wherever you will go" here but now we try to get "Tonight" to radios. They actually played it once, in February this year. People liked it much and since that we have sent request even more. :) But we always get same answer: "Lot of people have request Alex Band's Tonight but we can't play it cos we don't find it from our system. We're sorry. We need the single here that we can play it."
^^don't even know what "can't find it from our system" means! I guess we need to buy the single somehow and send it to radios......... or Alex has to do that xD

But anyway, the main point is that you do all you can and never give up! :) someday it was all worth it. Keep going girl!!!

your shirts are brilliant. You are very creative!!! Thank you for sharing!

I think shirts are a very important way to spread the word. Any clothes everyone can see.

And your neck scarf (don`t know if it`s the correct word but I know what you mean ;))) is a great idea. I posted a poem on this page here (fan blog) "Thank you, Alex" with WABT-song titles and some others. But it`s too much to write on a shirt. :)

Hey Hanna,

thank you, it`s so great to hear that you and people from other countries do all they can to support Alex, too! :) You know, everything depends on his success here in Germany and he is very close to that point to bring out his album in the whole world. So I´m sure that you will hear "Tonight" on the radio stations in Finland very soon. :)))

It`s still hard to support him here in Westgermany. No chances to vote. I can request songs but often the radio stations email me that it`s not their decision which songs they play. WEIRD! But as you said we should never give up and I`m still requesting and working on it. ;)

*fingerscrossed* for the release of WABT in the whole world!!!

Great idea, Natalie! You`re right, I would love to own an Alex Band-book!!! Your way of writing is amazing (I know your awesome album review of WABT) and you know a lot about his life. Please tell me, when/if you start writing!

It`s hard for me to listen to the radio for a long time these days. Too much commercial music from musicians without any talent. Sometimes I ask myself if I`m just too old for that kind of music but I`m really tired of it! So, I also like your idea with a pirate radio station but I`m sure it`s better to take the legal way! ;)))

Honestly I think one of the big things is just getting people to go to shows with you when you can. I invited a couple of people last year who were curious enough to make their way out and they both left with copies of We've All Been There. Everyone can tell Alex can perform better than just about any act you'll find out there, it's just getting them there in the first place.

Obviously depending on the area that's not always an option. So maybe if they mention liking the one or two songs, recommend another, show a wide variety of songs if you have the time: slow, fast, acoustic, electric; basically show him as being a far more three-dimensional artist and not just "that guy who sang Wherever You Will Go a decade ago." But sometimes all you need is one song to spark curiosity, pretty much how I got into this in 2002.

Other ideas include showing people your bracelets and if they feel inclined to get one like whatever you're wearing point out that you get a cool song download with it.

@Alex You`re right! To take people to his concerts and talk about him to everyone really helps, too!

When Alex was on tour in Germany in March I was there with 3 friends of mine. Two were already fans but didn`t want to go to the show (too big hall) and another friend just knew the song "Tonight". But they came all with me and were totally thrilled and happy! We still talk about that show whenever we meet. :)

If anyone talks to me when I wear my shirts or likes the items from the store I use the chance to tell them about Alex`s music. Last week I`ve been in a music store. A chinese girl asked me who it is and bought a copy of his album. I can`t describe my feelings but it was incredible! :)

I`m very thankful for your replies and informations!!! Now I can put some more ideas to my list and hope it will become more and more...! :)

they're all really cute designs ladies! Anja are you from the German ST? I think you guys really need a website where people can find out facts and ways to promote Alex without having to sign up on a boards. with all these social networks people are no more willing to sign up everywhere!

 

I think a good help could also be to open topics about Alex on other online communities asking them to check out his youtube channel or, now that the album is out, one of those players with a sample of every album's track. Everytime I asked for opinions I've always got positive feedbacks. But choose boards of artists that are compatible with Alex, I mean, of course heavy metal fans won't like Alex's music lol

 

When I open a post I never say things like "he's the best singer in the world" or blabla, just be as polite as you can or people will think you're just an obsessed fan lol Same thing when someone gives bad feedback, arguing with them even when they say VERY stupid things, won't help...

yes, I am joining the German ST and every fan there has a lot of great ideas! :) But I`m interested in every kind of promotion and every new idea I can get. Especially from Alex`s fans, of course! Finally we are all his fans, no rivals/competitors, and want his music all around the world!

Thank you for your ideas and good advices!!! I am someone who tweets "best singer, best music...." because it`s really my opinion. For my shirts I used the words "best music ever" because I wanted words Germans and foreign people understand. Well, I`ll try to be more polite.  ;) xx

hey, my post wasn't referring to your shirts at all, I think they're all really cute!

I was talking about what we fans write on boards. Of course if someone asks me I'm gonna say he's my favourite singer and the best one but when you try to introduce people to new artists, if you seem to be over-excited about them, they'll think you're just exaggerating and won't take seriously your words so they won't even open your links.

Oh Lu, I just misunderstood you in one point but I agree with everything else you said!!!! Sorry, I shouldn`t write in English when I`m too busy... :/

I thought you meant this page here too as a "board" and I just wanted to explain why I posted it on here! But I know that you weren`t referring to my shirts! ;)

It`s really true that we all should be careful in which words we use on other online communities, Twitter, Facebook and so on!  Would be perfect to find the only one correct way for that but unfortunately there`s no chance because people are too different. So it`s important to consider everything possible before we post something! xx
